Lankelma is a leading company in the field of Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), site investigation and engineering consultancy for construction projects on both a national and international scale. We provide high quality data relating to in situ ground conditions in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Lankelma was originally a Dutch family company started in 1896 specialised in water and gas wells for farms. Lankelma got involved in cone penetration testing as early as the 1950’s.
Lankelma has been established in the UK since 1999. MD Eric Zon moved from Lankelma Netherlands to head this new venture as MD and shareholder. Lankelma Netherlands took a 50% shareholding and Ben Magee joined as operations director and shareholder. The combined knowledge in Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) has led Lankelma to maintain a prominent position in the UK’s geotechnical industry. Our experience allows us to go beyond simply providing accurate data, to deliver high quality interpretation and engineering input for our clients.
In 2004 Lankelma Netherlands sold its shares to Gardline Shipping Ltd, based in Great Yarmouth. Lankelma’s relationship with the Gardline Group has enabled Lankelma to progress in the UK and make significant headway in marine environments. Gardline Group were established in 1969 and were the UK’s largest independently owned marine geophysical, environmental and hydrographic survey company.
With the sale of the Gardline group to Boskalis of the Netherlands in August 2017 Lankelma went back to private ownership still with original shareholder and MD Eric Zon. Eric has over the years had several positions in the Gardline group as MD of Gardline Geosciences Ltd and BD Director for the Gardline group. He has retired from all his Gardline positions and focuses solely on Lankelma.
Lankelma now works once again as an independent company but next to its prominent position in the onland industry now also with a wealth of marine experience.
