Active on the European market since 2006, Logex srl manages and coordinates the entire cycle of collection and treatment of hazardous waste. Moreover, Logex srl is an important partner of the primary European railway infrastructure companies in managing the waste cycle of worn-out wooden railway sleepers classified under the European Waste Code`s (EWC) category 17*.
Logex s.r.l. started in the end of 2006, in the aim of establishing a company able to manage and coordinate the logistic flow in the context of the collection and disposal of dangerous waste (category 17 of the CER codes: waste resulting from construction and demolition processes, including the soil from contaminated sites), in observance of the authorizations for the storage of this kind of waste belonging to Lugo Terminal S.p.A., partner with Logex s.r.l.
At the moment the activities of Logex s.r.l. are concentrated on the waste type CER17.02.04* (glass, plastic and wood containing dangerous substances or polluted by them).
During the two years of activity, thanks to the experience of our staff we have handled 20.000 tons of used sleepers. In particular, we have primarily handled used sleepers, contaminated with creosote, from the RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana – Italian Railway Network), at present the most important producer of this type of waste in Italy. In smaller quantities we also handled used sleepers from private railway companies.
