Range of products and services

With its products and brands, MAN Truck & Bus takes up a position in the global premium segment. The product range comprises trucks with a gross weight between 7.5 and maximum 44 tonnes and efficient sector-specific solutions for the areas of long-haul, transport and distribution logistics, as well as heavy construction and traction haulage. Special vehicles with a gross weight of 250 tonnes are also part of the portfolio. However, MAN is not only a leader in heavy transport. MAN also sets new standards in terms of economy, efficiency and comfort when it comes to passenger transportation. No matter if this is regarding omnibuses for urban public transport or overland journeys, or coaches for long-distance travel.

Furthermore, other manufacturers use diesel and gas engines produced by MAN for installation in commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, rail vehicles as well as yachts. In line this, MAN Truck & Bus offers their own customers special financing deals with MAN Solutions and a comprehensive range of single source services.

Goals and strategic orientation

The strategic goals are set over the next 10 years and divided into three levels based on the changes in the global commercial vehicle industry.

The first part is a comprehensive future programme to strengthen the business in the competitive environment. This also includes a sustainable improvement of the results, which is to be achieved by rigorous realignment of the truck production locations as well as the slimming down of numerous administrative areas.

In a second part, we focus on our existing business. We will concentrate on markets and business sectors in which we will achieve an increase in volume and RoS. Our product development efforts will also focus on those products which will offer us the greatest potential in the future.

In order to be able to meet the future requirements of our customers in terms of digitalisation, we need to extend our business with new business models. The third part is therefore entirely dedicated to the challenges of digital transformation and will include the development of new business models and strong mobility solutions.
