Environmental impact of plastic pipe systems
The European plastic pipes and fittings association (teppfa) commissioned a study in 2010 to assess the environmental impact of plastic pipe systems compared to conventional materials. Life cycle assessments were carried out by the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) and validated by Denkstatt gmbh (Austria). As well as the actual results of the LCA study an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) was also produced.
