Micron Optics’ core technology – the Fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter – was instrumental in the development of dense WDM fiber optic communication systems. Micron Optics’ founder, Calvin M. Miller, was the true father of the Micron Optics family. Cal was responsible for the core development of the Fiber Fabry-Perot technology, for handpicking the company’s management and engineering teams and for initiating the spirit and unity that binds the employees of Micron Optics as a family. He passed away in 2002, but his spirit lives on through Micron Optics’ technology and the teams he put in place.
