Modern Waste Products
Innovative waste management solutions for businesses and waste haulers
Modern Waste Products Inc. is a Canadian-owned Company specializing in the design, production and distribution of innovative solutions to waste management. Our exceptional application design team enables us to design solution in-house and bring them the marketplace.
Our flagship product is the BinPak Compactor, a simple yet highly effective solution to bulky business waste disposal, created with the needs of food and restaurant business owners in mind. Modern Waste Products are therefore designed:
- To improve your bottom line profitability
- To be environmentally more attractive than traditional solutions
- To be ergonomically sound, benefiting employee health and safety
All our products meet or exceed CSA SPE-1000 model code requirements, and are marked and approved by ESAFE.

Innovations in waste management for business
- Too much trash and nowhere to put it?
- Looking for a cleaner, greener solution to waste disposal?
- Want to save cash on your trash collections?
The BinPak self-contained compaction bin makes food waste and trash disposal safer, easier and better for the environment than using conventional 6 yard waste bins, with less hassle, less risk to staff and less cost to your business.
Unlike conventional waste compactors (packers), the BinPak is totally self-contained. Simply open the load door, load in your bags of trash, close the door and press the button. That's it. Job done.
The BinPak trash compactor system gently compacts trash in your bin to a ratio of up to 6:1, which means you can get up to 6 times the volume of garbage and waste in your bin before it needs emptying. That's up to 6 times less waste collections, 6 times less disruption from waste collection trucks blocking your yard or parking lot, and 6 times less carbon emissions and fuel usage from waste haulers.
That's good for all of us involved in waste management; the business owner who reduces staff injury and clean up costs and pest management, the waste hauler who saves mileage and dumping charges, and the neighbours who experience less disruption from noise, smells and pests.

BinPak: Less Mess = Less Cost
Since BinPak is a totally self-contained waste compactor, all the waste you put into your bin, stays in the bin. Unlike standard open top waste bins, trash can't fly out in high winds or on garbage days, and pests such as rodents and insects can't get in either. Liquid created by wet waste or food waste simply drains into a leak-proof reservoir in the base, and simply drains into the garbage truck on collection, leaving no sticky, smelly residue to clean up. And since your waste is compacted up to 6 times less than its original volume, there's plenty of room inside for those extra bags of trash that normally pile up.

Environmental Benefits of BinPak Waste Compactor Bins
Waste disposal and waste management are hot topics these days, not least because of the environmental impact that trash disposal has on our local and global environment.
At Modern Waste Products, we believe responsible disposal of waste starts at the source, and the easier it is for people to dispose of trash responsibly, the better.
Easy To Use = Frequently Used
So, our BinPak trash compacting bin has been designed for ease of use first and foremost. With a either a front or rear loading door that's only 24 in (60 cm) high, any member of staff can easily load garbage into the BinPak. Equally, since the BinPak has a waste compression ratio of approximately 6:1, staff can place up to six times as much volume of waste inside before collection is required.
Your Waste Bin Environment
Keeping your waste bin area clean and tidy is not an easy job with conventional waste bins; trash can fly out of open topped bins, and pests and insects can get in. Liquid seepage cause unpleasant odours, and uncollected rubbish accumulation can attract wildlife for all the wrong reasons.
A BinPak compactor bin contains all your solid waste, food waste and resulting liquid inside the bin, keeping your waste collection area free of odours, rodents, insects and litter.
Your Local Environment
Compressed trash requires less waste collection visits by waste haulers, reducing their carbon emissions and fuel use. Compressed trash doesn't fly out of waste trucks on emptying, reducing littering and wasted municipal resources spent cleaning it up. Liquids don't leak from the BinPak, so you don't need to waste water (and staff time) washing it away every day. And secured trash bins discourage vandals and unauthorised use, saving you time and resources spent policing waste areas.
The Global Environment
If every business in the Toronto area reduced its waste collection by half (and remember, the BinPak compresses waste volumes by 6:1), the reduced emissions from less waste truck mileage alone could have an impact on air quality in the city. Better waste compression by businesses might also reduce the amount of municipal time and resources needed to be spent on waste management - in 2010, one solid waste management official in the city claimed over $17,000 in travel expenses alone, for trips to a landfill and treatment plant!
Environmental Scorecard
Lowering Your Environmental Scorecard / Carbon Footprint with BinPak
Every action we take in business and in life has an impact on our environment, and a related 'cost', and expressed as our environment scorecard or carbon footprint. Reducing our impact is a priority for both business and government, and even the smallest of changes can, on a global scale, make a lot of difference.
The BinPak compacting waste bin offer numerous small benefits to the process of your waste disposal and management, but together they add up to a lot, both in terms of reducing your carbon footprint and reducing costs too!
Reduced Waste Collections
The single biggest impact a BinPak can contribute to lowering your business environmental scorecard (and costs) is through its in-built trash compression system. BinPak can reduce the volume of your trash by a ratio of up to 6:1. That means you could benefit from six times as much volume of trash in your bin before it needs emptying. Up to six times less visits by your municipal waste disposal truck reduces their carbon emissions and fuel costs, and in turn can reduce your garbage collection charges.
Stacked Trash and Blown Rubbish Eliminated
You know the scenario: it's been a busy week, your open top bins are overflowing, there are trash bags stacked around the bins and they're being torn by pests and birds. At least when the trash is collected it'll look better - or will it?
Chances are trash will fly out of your bin when it's being emptied. Then, you waste staff hours cleaning it all up, only for the same thing to happen again next time. With its latched lid and compacted contents, trash stays in a BinPak until the very last seconds it’s tipped into the truck, so trash has no chance to escape.
Farewell, Smelly Bins and Leaky Bins
With conventional 6 yard trash bins, liquid from food and wet waste simply leaks out the bottom of the bin onto your yard, parking lot or waste collection area. During the summer, this smells awful; during the winter, it freezes into a trip hazard. Either way, it needs to be cleaned off, using precious water resources and more man hours. The BinPak has a built-in leak-roof reservoir that contains the liquid until it drains into the waste truck at collection, with no mess and no spills.
Banish Racoons, Rodents and Insects
Raccoons, rodents and insects love your open top waste bins - a free meal and a home in one. Eliminating them involves time, money and potentially harmful chemicals, and until you do, they are potential hazards to your staff and a nuisance to your neighbours. Since the BinPak has a latched lid and is totally contained, pests and insects simply cannot get in.
Lock Out Vandals and Unauthorized Dumping
Waste disposal is expensive enough as it is, without someone adding their trash to yours overnight! Since the BinPak load door can be locked with a padlock, or an optional keypad, only your staff can deposit your trash into the BinPak. And with its heavy latched lid secured by a padlock overnight, vandals can't get in either, keeping your trash secure.
No Installation Renovations or Building Required
Other waste compacting systems involve adding a vertical compactor to a bin, requiring extra high shelters, problems moving bins under the compactor, and the requirement to bolt down a substantial frame for the compactor.
Alternatively, other systems require a sunken well or pit to sink the bin into, incurring digging and building costs, and the need to locate underground services. Such bins also require a special truck for pick ups. In addition, this dedicated truck takes much longer to empty the container.
The BinPak doesn't need any of hard work or expense; it has the same footprint as a standard 6 yard bin, looks like one, empties like one, and with its lid, may not require a separate shelter. (Although your staff and waste disposal collection truck team might prefer your bins to be dry and snow-free.) The BinPak is also available with a heater to avoid trash freezing in the bins, a cause of delays in winter waste collection.
How BinPak is Lowering Its Own Carbon Footprint
Since the BinPak is designed and manufactured in Canada, we don't ship it in from abroad, making it a lower carbon footprint product in terms of its production journey and sourcing. We recycle as much material as possible both during manufacture and distribution, and, naturally, we compact all our office and manufacturing plant waste using a BinPak!
