In the early 1970”s, Harold Scott, along with a few others, sat in a room and started the Tri-State Drilling Contractor’s Association. In the early days of the association, the following happened:

  1. Monthly meetings
  2. Many meetings with the department of transportation to get them to allow Hollow Stem Auger use in lieu of driving casing and wash sampling
  3. Stopping a local effort to require drilling contractors to submit all their drilling logs for all projects to the State
  4. Getting the department of Transportation to allow bid bonds instead of cash bonds
  5. Along with CME,  getting the department to accept safety hammers
  6. Meetings with the DCDMA and the merger of the two groups for the good of the industry
  7. The start of annual Trade shows and conventions
