AMPOL was founded by CEO/President Kirk Headley in 1993 as a response to the booming oil and gas industry in South Louisiana. In recent years, AMPOL has rapidly expanded from our corporate headquarters in New Iberia, LA and Oil Stop office in Harvey, LA to a total of six offices along the Gulf Coast in Louisiana and Texas, including Bayou Vista, Chalmette, Venice and Port Arthur.

It is equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing tools, and provides for ample production capacity, storage, and distribution. The management team has over 80 years of combined experience in manufacturing oil pollution control products. Oil Stop is ISO-9001 certified since 2002 and holds several patents for pollution control products. Oil Stop has sales offices in New Iberia, Louisiana, Houston, Texas, and sales agents in several countries worldwide.
Oil Stop offers a full range of oil spill control equipment including oil spill containment boom, temporary liquid storage options and oil skimmers. Ancillary equipment and accessories offered by Oil Stop include boom reels, power packs, inflation blowers, turbidity control curtains, flood control barriers, decontamination pools, and installation accessories.
Oil Stop supplies oil spill control equipment to major oil companies and oil spill cooperatives, and includes the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and other federal, state, and local government agencies as regular customers.
