Potesta & Associates, Inc. has developed into a full-service engineering and environmental consulting firm. Our staff includes civil, geotechnical, environmental, mechanical, mining, and chemical engineers, as well as biologists, toxicologists, geologists, ecologists, surveyors, CADD designers, field technicians, professional foresters, occupational safety and health experts, asbestos abatement design planners, oil and gas consultants and support personnel.
We take pride in delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions to our clients' complex requirements. Our clients include mining, manufacturing and chemical companies, utility companies, municipalities, waste management companies, architects, attorneys, financial institutions, insurance companies, colleges/universities, land developers, construction companies, local, state and federal agencies and non-profit groups. We primarily serve clients east of the Mississippi River, occasionally reaching further west. Our services are provided from our headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia and branch offices in Morgantown, West Virginia and Winchester, Virginia.
POTESTA has a total staff of approximately 100 people, including 26 engineers, 17 of whom are registered professional engineers. Our engineering staff currently maintains professional registration in numerous states. We also have six licensed remediation specialists, four registered professional surveyors, a licensed asbestos abatement designer, two licensed asbestos inspectors and two GIS experts. Our project teams are supported by a large group of designers, surveyors, biologists, scientists, technicians and other support personnel.
Ronald R. Potesta, President of the company, is a former Director of the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. Dr. L. Eli McCoy, former Director of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and Chief of the agency's Office of Water Resources, serves as POTESTA's Environmental Consulting Vice President. Dana L. Burns, P.E. serves as the firm's Engineering Vice President. Mr. Burns has over 32 years of experience with civil, geotechnical, mining and environmental engineering projects.
We carry a full line of insurance coverage, including general liability, errors and omissions, pollution liability and workers' compensation. We also have and follow a stringent internal quality control system designed to provide our clients with a high standard of service.
