ProHydro is the manufacturer of the Snap Sampler. The Snap Sampler is a passive/no-purge groundwater sampling device that employs a unique double-opening sample bottles seal under the water surface using a remote trigger. Snap Samplers are deployed into the monitoring well, allowed to equilibrate with the surrounding aquifer, then triggered to close downhole. The trigger releases an internal, PFA Teflon-coated, stainless steel spring that seals PFA Teflon end caps onto the bottle. The end caps are designed to seal the water sample within sample bottles with no headspace vapor. Once closed, the vial is retrieved from the well, and the field technician simply prepares the bottle with standard septa screw caps. Samples can be sent to the laboratory without exposure of sample from the downhole condition to the analytical instruments at the laboratory.
