RADeCO, is a veteran owned business operating in New England. About 40 years ago RADeCO started as a small company designing Air Samplers for the nuclear industry. In 1973, Science Applications International (SAI) purchased RADeCO. It was here the name RADeCO took on its true form. RADeCO stands for RAdiation DEtection COmpany pronounced (RA Deek Oh.)After purchasing the RADeCO product line from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in February 2000, the company was moved to New England. Since that time our manufacturing facility and annual sales have tripled in size. Over the last several years RADeCO has been awarded multiple large contracts from military and emergency response organizations including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and USEPA.
RADeCO is a manufacturer of high quality, reliable air sampling instrumentation and consumable products for detecting the presence of airborne radiation. RADeCO products are used by militaries, nuclear utilities, emergency responders and research institutions throughout the world.
The name RADeCO, stands for “RADiation Detection Company”. The RADeCO brand is now fifty years old and has been separated from SAIC and privately owned since February of 2000.
All instrumentation and charcoal cartridge production is performed in our new 10,000 square foot facility in Plainfield Connecticut. We currently have the capability of producing 70-100 air samplers and greater than 1000 radioiodine cartridges each day.
SAIC, designed and built superior equipment and RADēCO has continued this tradition. RADēCO is committed to invest in new products and services and is continually upgrading older models and developing newer state-of-the-art models. From telemetry based remote monitoring and AC/DC portable high volume samplers to newly improved radioiodine sampling cartridges, the tradition of innovation continues at RADēCO.
In January of 2006, RADēCO entered into an Alliance Agreement with International Speciality Products Corporation (ISP), to assist with the development of a new type of colorimetric radiation dosimeter designed specifically for first responders. The RADView PD dosimeter has been supplied to The National Guard, The State of New Jersey, and New York City to name a few and to numerous emergency response organizations around the country. RADēCO has worldwide distribution rights to the RADView line of radiation dosimeters.
