Ros Roca Environment’s core activity is the manufacturing of equipment and the design and development of engineering systems and processes applied to the environment. Our philosophy is based on total respect for the environment and the greatest possible development of all environmental engineering that improves quality of life for people.
From our very beginnings we have been very clear about our main objective. We work to build a society in which people may enjoy a constantly improving quality of life in harmony with their environment. From Tàrrega (Lleida province, Catalonia, Spain) we have grown and are today a multinational company with operations and presence on the five continents. This does not make us lose sight of our aim but instead sharpens it more. Ros Roca thus invests in research and the development of new technologies, processes and materials in order to achieve a more sustainable society.
We have the spirit and vocation of leaders. We do not shy away from challenge. Our history shows that we are able to see beyond a boundary and grow. People motivate us. We are proud to say that we have a team of more than 1,600 people who, spread out over five continents, help us to improve our products and services every day.
We manufacture and develop equipment and design and engineer systems and processes applied to the environment and always understand that people’s actions must be one of total respect for it.
We invite you to discover our fields of activity.
Our history begins with Ferrán Ros Pijoan and Ramón Roca Sala in 1953 in Agramunt (Lleida province, Spain) more than 60 years ago. Their first enterprises focused on the buying and selling of wood and the construction of trailers, cisterns, axles, etc for the agricultural sector. In 1956 they began to fabricate waste collection equipment and in 1968 what is today’s headquarters was opened.
Since then we have evolved, grown, expanded our range of equipment, markets, we invest in R&D...In conclusion, we continue to build the multinational organization that we are today. Ramón Roca Enrich, current President of the Ros Roca group, continues to abide by the philosophy that has always moved the company: to promote a better society.
Our mission is to improve people’s lives and their environment. From this clear and concrete objective we work using all our knowledge as well as developing new products and services that help to build a more sustainable society while also providing a better quality of life.
Our values are based on the premise of total respect for the environment. To this end we invest in research and development.
Research and development are the axis which allow our work methodology to steer towards the main objective: a modern society which is better, sustainable and respectful with the environment.
We in Ros Roca Environment form an innovative group which looks towards the future. With an international vocation and the soul of a leader but without ever losing sight of our human element. This is what make us great.
True to our goal of promoting a more sustainable society, at Ros Roca we continue to innovate. To do so we have a R&D department from which we work to develop new technologies, materials and solutions. Some of the projects developed in our R&D department are already implemented in cities around Europe, such as the underground automatic waste collection system or the automatic container control systems.
In addition to this, Ros Roca is working on the Newmatica project together with the University of Lleida (UdL), the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Superior Council of Scientific Investigations) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC, Polytechnic University of Catalonia).Newmatica is an project based on a automatic waste collection system using artificial intelligence techniques which allow a reduction in waste’s ecological footprint. It will make collection cleaner and more economical for municipalities and allow a saving of up to 15% in energy consumption. With this system, both the operative and the state of the automatic collection system of interest can be observed in real time through Google maps as well as the different waste collection points in the city. This also may even be consulted via a mobile telephone.
For years we have also been working on smart solutions which allow cities to make more efficient waste collections. At RosRoca, we manufacture and commercialize products that improve and optimize the work of waste management companies.
