About Us
Thanks to the diversity, quality and sheer breadth of our product range, we are able to deliver perfect solutions for virtually any application. Drawing on our process engineering expertise, we handle a wide range of materials and equip them with various properties. This allows us to expand our materials portfolio continuously and improve our overall range of products. Our prime focus is on delivering customer value.
Boasting more than 35,000 items, our product range is probably one of the most extensive worldwide. We have access to a wide range of high-quality materials for the manufacture of our products. Additionally, we are able to modify existing materials or develop entirely new ones as a basis of customised product solutions.
Our materials
Whether sheets featuring functional layers or high-performance thermoplastics that can be exposed to processing temperatures in excess of 200 °C – the new Technology Centre allows us to work on a more extensive range of development projects with new materials and combinations of materials. This will help us to reduce time to market. For the first time, our research and development departments have been brought together under the same roof at a dedicated site. SIMONA’s abilities as a pioneering innovator are underpinned by lean structures and state-of-the-art multifunctional machinery.
Within the Mobility segment of the market our subsidiary Boltaron supplies an extensive range of extruded, calendered and press-laminated sheet products for aircraft interiors. www.boltaron.com
In acquiring the US extrusion company Premier Material Concepts, LLC (PMC), SIMONA has further extended its portfolio to include products for deep-drawing. www.simona-pmc.com
At SIMONA, customising is not merely restricted to supplying individual sizes, colours and dimensions tailored to your specific requirements. With the field of application for plastics becoming increasingly diverse, customers also want to be able to choose from a more extensive range of functional characteristics. Whether antistatic, electrically conductive, resistant to chemicals, antibacterial, non-slip or “as smooth as a baby's bottom”, we produce plastics with special properties – of a consistently high quality.
Mobility, Construction, Agriculture, Rehabilitation, Water Treatment and Mining are market segments in which SIMONA is already active today. We are committed to unlocking new fields of application for our polymer-based products for the purpose of cementing our position in attractive niche segments.
Supported by business development for defined segments of the market, we are looking to cultivate new fields of application. Our ambition is to build specialist expertise in such markets and drive forward product development. One of our principal strengths is the ability to develop intelligent solutions in response to customer requirements. We also want to draw on these skills when it comes to entering new market segments – for the benefit of our customers. At the same time, we will not be neglecting classic fields of application in the area of chemical tank and equipment construction. Our customers will benefit from SIMONA’s ability to provide superior technical solutions tailored to their market requirements. This applies to the process of refining the key characteristics of existing plastics and re- placing materials used in the past with our stateof- the-art products.

Indeed, professional development and personal advancement form an integral part of our day-to-day activities – and this applies not only to our employees. We also offer our clients a range of highly targeted training programmes, implemented either at our Technical Service Centre or at the customer's premises.
SIMONA is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions to address some of the most pressing issues facing our society in the future. Plastics are predestined for applications within the field of environmental protection, energy provision, mobility and water supply. We have formulated a corporate strategy that is targeted closely at these areas of business. SIMONA is a pioneer in environmental protection. For decades, we have been producing PVC sheets without hazardous lead stabilisers. 95% of the waste produced during operations is recycled. We are committed to the continuous advancement of energy efficiency at production level. Our integrated quality, environmental and energy management system provides the basis for ongoing improvements to the quality of our products and processes as well as the sustainability of ecological protection, in addition to helping us optimise our energy footprint and reduce CO2 emissions. Our management system is compliant with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001, DIN EN ISO 50001 and ISO/TS 16949.
Committed to its social responsibilities, SIMONA supports a number of aid projects, educational facilities and other initiatives throughout the region and beyond. In 2007, Anita Bürkle, widow of Dr. Wolfgang Bürkle, who was SIMONA AG's CEO and later Chairman of the Supervisory Board for many years, established a foundation by the name of 'Dr. Wolfgang und Anita Bürkle Stiftung'. The shares in SIMONA AG bequeathed to Mrs. Bürkle by her late husband were transferred to this foundation. Its objective is to support and promote worthy causes in the town of Kirn and the region as a whole.
Quality, Diligence and Reliability
SIMONA has established a track record spanning more than 150 years, built on its commitment to quality, diligence and reliability. Established in 1857 as a leather processing business, Carl Simon Söhne soon evolved into a company of international renown, reaching its zenith in the first decade of the 20th century. However, the two world wars that followed resulted in the total collapse of the European leather industry – precipitating SIMONA into a full-scale crisis. The company sought out new lines of business – and found them in the plastics industry. Since then, SIMONA has flourished and grown, establishing itself as a leading player within the field of plastics manufacturing. Displaying energy and dynamism, we intend to pursue our ambitious goals and meet our customers' exacting standards. Around the globe. With total commitment. And always one step ahead of others.
Investor Relations
SIMONA AG shares are traded in the General Standard of Deutsche Börse, Frankfurt, as well as in Düsseldorf. Approximately 11% of our stock is held in free float, i.e. by the wider public. We are committed to a consistent and stable dividend policy, together with an attractive dividend yield.
