Our Wildlife Telemetry Consultants
Our wildlife telemetry consultants offer you a wealth of telemetry and biological knowledge from their many years spent in the field. Each consultant has specialist knowledge of wildlife telemetry solutions for their market.
Our History
Sirtrack began as an independent subsidiary of New Zealand Crown Research Institute, Landcare Research. The company was established in 1986, a time when the New Zealand government was undertaking extensive bio-security research using radio tracking to monitor introduced species of wildlife that were threatening New Zealand's native fauna and flora. Sirtrack quickly became experts in the field of wildlife tracking for pest research in the rugged New Zealand wilderness. Since that time, the company has expanded into a wider range of wildlife tracking applications, and is regarded as a world leader. To date Sirtrack has deployed wildlife tracking units in over 70 countries around the world, on over 550 species of wildlife.
In 2011 Sirtrack was acquired by Lotek Wireless, Canada. The Lotek companies include Lotek Wireless; Newmarket, Ontario, St Johns; Newfoundland, Biotrack; UK, and now Sirtrack; New Zealand. All three companies have been supplying wildlife telemetry solutions for over 25 years with world leading products for avian, terrestrial, marine and fish research and conservation. With one of the largest research and development teams in the wildlife telemetry world, combined with a dedicated team of wildlife telemetry consultants and experts located in four continents, we are confident that we can raise our already great customer service to new heights.
