The group is incorporated and based in the UK with offices in London, Nottingham and Australia, employing more than 240 people.

We publish and distribute magazines across 13 industries, including healthcare, packaging, energy, transportation and architecture.

Our international conference and executive summits division operates under the ViBevents brand, providing 55 annual industry events for pharmaceuticals, IT and telecommunications, energy and financial services, packaging, architecture, transport and hospitality.
          
In addition, we operate 28 internet reference sites, which in 2006 attracted nearly 19 million users who viewed over 100,000,000 pages and provided our customers with over 45,000 qualified business enquiries.

Steeped in publishing tradition and history, SPG Media has experienced the boom and bust years of media and emerged successfully. Now a fundamentally different company from the publishing business of old, we are aggressively pursuing a strategy to build a world-class business-to-business international media company. Our new strategy is founded on outstanding products and services offering clients bespoke solutions to fulfil their complex requirements.

1970: Sterling Publications Ltd founded following the development of controlled circulation publications and outbound call centre sales techniques.
1980s : Developments in international telecommunications enabled Sterling to access a global advertising market extending its services to a global audience.
1986: Sterling Publishing Group (SPG) floated on the London Stock Exchange
1987: SPG acquires Cornhill Publications Ltd and Debrett’s Limited
1996: Simone Kesseler appointed chief executive
1997: Derek Watson appointed group financial director
1998: Launched Quasar International Communications
1999: Acquired Net Resources International (NRI), a provider of vertically aligned internet reference sites
2000: Rapidly expanded internet services into over 20 markets and sectors.
2002: Launched first business summit to huge success
2003: Acquired Analysis & Networking, a specialist provider of business conferences
2004: Steve Nicholson appointed chief executive
2004: Launch of SPG Media Indian office
2005: Keith Sadler appointed finance director
