SEC was founded in 1995 to provide strategic sustainability support and since its inception has delivered real change and created economic and social value.

Based on its specialist expertise in combining business and sustainability improvements, SEC has forged strong and long-lasting relationships with B2B and consumer facing clients.   SEC has worked as a retained advisor over many years working with our clients, transferring our skills so our clients become independent of us and we can move on.

The type of clients which SEC has worked with covers the entire spectrum from owner-operated enterprises through to blue chip multinationals, many of whom are global brands operating throughout the UK, Europe, North America, South East Asia and sourcing globally.

Through working with Commodity Roundtables, NGOs, disclosure projects and advising on collaborations particularly in commodity traceability and standards setting, SEC has a strong understanding and knowledge of the social sector and assurance systems.

We have in place an environmental management system and this impacts on our behaviour through using public transport and recycling as much of our waste as possible; including IT and communications equipment. We use cloud based computing and electronic files wherever possible to reduce physical footprints too. Working from home and telecommuting is encouraged to reduce travelling time and carbon intensity.

We aim to make a net positive social impact through supporting young people into employment. Youth unemployment is a major societal issue in Europe and SEC offers paid internships to young people on a regular basis, to provide them with much-needed experience and help them create better outcomes. Where we can we employ recent graduates or those who have struggled to enter employment after a break and we are committed to train them. SEC is a learning organisation and we invest in refreshing and building our people’s skills.

Business Management Systems
SEC believes in using systems to maximise efficiency and generate the best outcomes achievable. So we invest heavily in work flow, project management, communication and time and resource planning systems to support our service delivery. This generates the time spent information needed to allow us to price fairly and to be transparent and accountable to clients on how their money is spent.

IT Development and Support Services
SEC’s technical and knowledge management systems support many of our service offers. We innovate and often generate our own code to create bespoke infrastructure to deliver added value whilst at an acceptable cost to our client base.

Data Warehousing Partnership
SEC is proud to work with Rackspace as our data centre partner for the cloud hosting of data. Rackspace is the world’s service leader in cloud based data hosting and provides a SEC with a safe and secure infrastructure for our client data management and our bespoke software solutions.
