Unlike other biofuels production methods that burn considerable amounts of feedstock to generate the heat needed for gasification, Sundrop Fuels has the first process that converts virtually all of the biomass used into actual fuel. This efficiency positions the company to compete directly with petroleum products by producing ultra-clean renewable advanced biofuels for an estimated unsubsidized cost of less than $2 per gallon.

As importantly, Sundrop Fuels’ product lifecycle reduces significantly the amount of greenhouse gas released into the atmosphere as compared to today's petroleum-based fuels.

Core elements of our unique technology were developed by and are licensed through the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). In 2008, Sundrop Fuels also acquired Copernican Energy, a University of Colorado technology transfer company involved in solar-thermal biomass-to-gas conversion systems.
