Susteco AB is a Swedish based company founded in 1997, market leader in providing solutions for on-site composting of food waste. Our Big Hanna is an in-vessel composter with a unique flow-through system which gives our customer a simple and practical way to compost food waste on site, avoiding storage, collection, transportation and landfill of organic waste. The capacity range is between 75-10800 kg of food waste/week. Our company acts locally through appointed distributors around the world. Our Big Hanna is installed in high populated areas and our customers are restaurants, canteens, schools, prisons, mountain lodges, camp sites and housing areas. Big Hanna is also installed in small municipalities or islands composting the collected food waste from the area around. Today Big Hanna composters are installed in +35 countries. We and our distributors provide service contracts and support. We are always interested in finding new distributors for our Big Hanna composters.
The Big Hanna was invented by Torsten Hultin, a Swedish sociologist in 1991. Torsten wanted to create awareness about how the way our society uses and misuse its resources, and how dependent we are on our local and global environment. We cannot hope to reverse trends without changing our habits. On-site composting is a vehicle for education and empowerment – central solutions do not have the same impact.
Our long-term commitment
