Sponsoring Comprehensive, Credible, and Timely Research
Since 1966, we have funded and managed research that is trusted throughout the international water community. Our research is conducted with scientific integrity under the guidance of experts in a variety of fields. This scientific rigor and third-party credibility is valued by utility managers, public health officials, and regulators in their decision-making processes.
We actively collaborate with public and private utilities, global nonprofits, and government agencies to capitalize on each organization’s expertise and maximize impact. Such collaboration allows us to leverage resources, find the best solutions to problems of shared interest, and develop and disseminate broad-based knowledge to the widest possible audience.
WRF’s dedicated staff of Regional Liaisons and Research Managers has the expertise to deliver personalized support, meeting subscriber needs in a timely and responsive manner. Along with our knowledgeable staff, subscribers also gain access to a global network of experts, providing opportunities for professional networking and best practice sharing.
Water Research Foundation has 50 years of experience in water research, giving subscribers access to the world’s most comprehensive collection of water knowledge.
The purpose of Water Research Foundation’s research programs is to create measurable value through strategically targeted research that provides timely solutions to the most important subscriber needs and challenges.
Our research is managed within three distinct research programs. Our Focus Area Program identifies a limited number of broadly relevant subscriber issues and solves them with a targeted, multi-year research response. The Emerging Opportunities Program enables us to respond quickly to emergent subscriber challenges and research opportunities identified at any time throughout the year. The Tailored Collaboration Program allows us to partner with utility subscribers on research that may be more limited or regional in impact.
Together, they allow us to provide timely research solutions to subscribers’ most important needs and challenges; ensure credible, scientifically sound research results; leverage subscriber investment through collaboration; and achieve an appropriate balance among industry-wide vs. specialized needs as well as short-term and long-term challenges.
Additionally, our Facilitated Research Services provides the opportunity for our subscribers to tap into WRF’s research management expertise to solve local, regional or niche issues.
