For over 50 years, Wayne Engineering has been a leading manufacturer of chassis-mounted productivity solutions for the solid waste industry. In fact, Wayne was a pioneer in automated collection with the introduction of the first Wayne Curbtender ASL back in the 1970’s. Wayne’s existing small-body rear and side loaders have received various engineered enhancements, as has the Curbtender – now considered one of the most advanced automated side loaders on the market. Our new engineering team also launched several new products, including the commercial-class Titan front loader and Phoenix full-size rear loader. The Arlock one-man commercial container handling system was introduced as an option for the Phoenix, but can also be retrofit to competitive makes of rear loaders. These additions give Wayne a complete product line-up for any type of residential or commercial refuse collection.

Year Founded:
2006

In 2006 Wayne Engineering came under the new ownership of Wayne Industrial Holdings (WIH), and with it, a new management team. This change has resulted in many exciting and new developments as well as continued growth.

In addition, WIH established Wayne Sweepers, LLC and acquired two well-established street sweeping product lines; the Gladiator mechanical sweeper and the air-assisted, PM-10 certified Centurion. Wayne Sweepers now shares the same corporate office and manufacturing space as Wayne Engineering, providing a greater synergy of engineering expertise and added efficiency in fabricating and assembly. With both companies producing chassis-mounted productivity solutions and sharing a common dealer network and customer base in many cases, plans for continued growth and product development are imminent as both firms continue to capitalize on their collective efficiencies.

To accommodate this growth, WIH purchased an additional 3.4 acres of land in 2007 and added 38,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space to the Wayne headquarters in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Investments in manufacturing, such as robotic welders and laser cutters, continue to fuel the productivity and competitive excellence of both divisions.

Today, Wayne Engineering seeks to produce equipment that has the best quality, dependability and productivity in the industry. Our engineers and support team are dedicated to continually developing and testing new solutions. Our ultimate goal is to deliver the product, service and performance that every customer demands.
