About Us
Chemical Dosing Solutions for Utilities & Industry
WES is a chemical dosing solutions provider delivering the design expertise and engineering know-how to effectively add chemicals to your process.
WES is a chemical dosing solutions provider
WES Ltd can trace its roots back to 1986 when, as Wheco Engineering Services Ltd, the business was providing mechanical engineering site services to the UK Water Industry.
The business began specialising in chemical dosing systems in the 1990’s and from the foundation of water industry experience, began branching out into other industries.
Today, with a staff of mechanical, electrical and chemical engineers, workshop engineers, site team and support staff, WES provides chemical dosing and fluid based engineering systems, services and support to a multi-industry client base from its facility in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The water industry remains a key sector but WES now proudly list Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Power, Environment and Industrial clients amongst its key markets.

Health & Safety
Health and Safety is paramount to WES and is always the first item on the monthly management agenda. H&S Reporting is through our SharePoint business management system. This incorporates the H&S incident tracking system. The system is dynamic and allows incident review to be escalated through the management structure. The outcome determines improvement requirements and sets the metrics for KPI’s to measure improvements.
Training is a significant part of ensuring staff competence, staff development and improving H&S awareness. Competency in key tasks is recorded on the staff skills matrix.
All employees are engaged with H&S through the WES Employee Handbook, H&S policy notice, company notice-board and also regular tool-box talk agenda items.
In terms of a safe working environment for manufacture, WES has a modern and brightly lit facility which is tightly controlled via the H&S Policy. The policy is reviewed annually, both internally and externally by our H&S Consultants who will update and revise in accordance with H&S standards/legislation.
Where site work is required, this is handled by the dedicated site installation team under the same H&S controls and initiatives as described and in accordance with strictly applied method statement and risk assessment procedures.
Operator and environmental safety is ensured through many years of experience providing chemical dosing systems and is controlled via a HAZOP process where we pro-actively engage with our clients’ operators and stakeholders.
WES is committed to inspections via bi-weekly facility and safety audits, generating awareness through internal publication and distribution. These inspections cover all aspects of the workshop environment including machinery, tools and the correct use of PPE. An audit sheet is completed at the conclusion of this process and any H&S non-conformances are reported. Further reinforcing this approach, our independent H&S Consultant makes regular site inspections and reports back to the Projects Director.
