Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is an emerging method of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of power plants. In a process called ‘scrubbing’, the carbon dioxide emissions can be absorbed into chemical solvents consisting of amines or carbonates. Scrubbing is a well-established method of carbon capture, with virtually every commercial CO2 capture plant in operation using this process. In the process, the first step is the removal of impurities from the flue gas, such as hydrocarbons and oxides of...
Today’s power industry is already subject to strict official regulations. These rules will only become more stringent in the future. As a result, environmentally friendly, cost-effective solutions that ensure plant and operational safety are in high demand.
SnowPure provides EDI modules for power generation market, since 2002. Power plants around the globe utilize our Electropure electrodeionization (EDI) including plants in the United States, China, Europe, and the Middle East. With our high capacity EXL EDI product we are able to serve a greater share of the boiler feedwater high purity water market.
The TD-4100 utilizes a non-fouling, non-contact flow cell which requires little to no maintenance, and uses fluorescence technology to accurately detect oil in water from low ppb to high ppm. For this application, the TD-4100 monitors oil in water at 1 to 5 ppm and signals an operator with an alarm when the concentration exceeds the high alarm relay set-point.
Focuses on medium NOx, NOx-related and multigas-concentrations up to 5’000 ppm where flexibility is a central requirement. Parameters included are NO, NO2, NOx, NH3, NOx-amines, O2 and CO2. Typical supported applications are industrial emission monitoring and gas manufacturing control.
Power plants are industrial facilities used to generate electric power with the help of one or more generators which convert different energy sources into electric power. Power plants need to monitor emissions continuously according to local emission regulations. Read about our solutions for the power industry!
Several EU directives and national laws in European countries set requirements for continuous monitoring of flue gas emissions at power plants. The demand for emission measurements has only increased in recent years and the trend will undoubtedly continue. It is therefore increasingly important for power plants to have reliable information available on emission of air pollutants. A power plant’s license to operate can even depend on it. Because the reduction of emissions to desired levels requires significant...
The specialists words are “measuring is good but measuring right is better”. At the moment the thought of an homologation happen for a new or existing engine development, the precision of gas measures is a crucial point. CO2 taxes and regulations oblige power plants and incinarators owners to regulary measure and calibrate the emissions of their installations. In order to fulfill the various normalisations, the Sonimix gas mixers are the essential tools. They provide the precision, reliability and...
Compressed breathing air is subject to strict limits of harmful contaminants defined in European standard EN 12021 and various defence standards such as DEF STAN 68-284 issue 3. The testing interval of breathing air compressors and associated equipment is 3 months and gases tested include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oil vapour defined as hexane and heavier hydrocarbons. EN 12021 covers underwater applications including self-contained open circuit compressed gas breathing (SCUBA) and compressed gas line...

Growing populations – about 80 million every year – and industrializing countries create huge needs for electrical energy. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) the global energy demand will increase by about 65% by 2035. A major fraction of the required energy will continue to be provided by thermal – mainly fossil fuel-fired and nuclear – power plants. "Renewable" energy sources such as photovoltaics (PV) will be another backbone of our energy supply. Putting renewable...
Oil and grease in formation water includes free oil, dispersed oil (small oil droplets), and emulsified oil. Oil and grease discharge, along with produced water, involves compliance with stringent regulations. Oil and grease removal methods depend on the end usage of treated water and composition of oil in the produced water. For more info contact us at email@example.com
The chemical composition of gypsum is calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO4·2H2O). There are two types of gypsum: natural gypsum and Flue-Gas Desulfurization (FGD) gypsum. FGD gypsum is a by-product of desulfurization of flue gas from the stacks of fossil-fueled power plants, and the emissions captured from smoke stacks are purified into a hard substance and manufactured into gypsum. FGD gypsum has been used to manufacture gypsum board for more than 30 years.
