5th Practical Nigerian Content Forum (PNC) 2016


The 5th Practical Nigerian Content Forum (PNC) welcomed over 350 government and industry representatives during the conference and the Site Visit to the Onne Oil & Gas Free Zone hosted by Orlean Invest and Intels. The discussions over the two conference days conveyed the milestones reached in domestic capacity building and in-country wealth retention. It was also highlighted by the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Mr Kentebe, as well as many industry representatives that the progress made in Nigerian Content development should and will be sustained in spite of the current economic climate.

PNC 2015 Highlights Included:

  •  Interview with the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board provided delegates with an insight into the key priorities of the Board in developing Nigerian Content over the next 3-5 years
  • The new Nigerian Content Consultative Forum Round Table Discussions for the first time, provided delegates with an opportunity to discuss the challenges that remain in NC compliance and put forward recommendations to remove barriers and support Nigerian Content growth
  • Over US$ 7.1 billion Foreign Direct Investment; and about US$6.7 billion revenue generation into the coffers of the Federal government of Nigeria
  • About 170 companies plying their trade in the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone and supporting the upstream and downstream sectors of Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry with an employment generation of over 20,000 direct and 50,000 indirect employees
  • Nigeria has been put in the oil map of the world as Onne has today been adjudged as the single largest and fastest growing Free Zone dedicated to the oil and gas industry in the world
  • Upcoming infrastructural developments in Onne include the about-to-be-commissioned Onne Port Multi Center of the Orlean Invest group (comprising of 120-bed 5-star type Residence accommodation, International Conference auditorium with 1,200 seating capacity, 2no. 200-seater meeting rooms, a Training Academy, and an exhibition hall occupying a gross area of 3,000sqm); and massive Infrastructural Developments, Standardization and Expansion of Phase 4B, Onne Port Complex (which includes the dredging and reclamation works for the construction of an additional 2,000sqm jetty (Berths 12-19) with a 12metre draft at low tide, 600 Ha industrial area, an inner channel and turn basin) embarked upon by Deep Offshore Services Nigeria Limited
