Applying Real-Time Hydraulic Models to Everyday Operations - Webinar
- Event Type:
- Oct. 14, 2020
- 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MT
Utilities around the country are starting to use real-time hydraulic models to predict operational changes and to respond to varying operational conditions more efficiently. In this webinar, attendees will hear from three different utilities about how they are using their real-time hydraulic models to tackle both day-to-day and longer term strategic challenges. Specific examples include: energy optimization, distribution control room training, forecasting operational impacts, responding to changing demand conditions, emergency management, and more. The webinar will also include a discussion on the best practices for building a real-time hydraulic model and the requisites for data and IT systems.
Real-time hydraulic models are another tool to help utilities become both more proactive and also promote knowledge sharing across the organization. A well done real-time model has the ability to help see problems before they become a larger issue. These models can often be applied to energy optimization to ensure that pumps and other large energy consuming equipment is only being used during non-peak usage rates. Real-time hydraulic models also encourage many of the operational details of running a system to be documented and consistently be re-evaluated through continuous hydraulic simulations.
The webinar will provide the learner with practical use cases for applying a real-time hydraulic model at their utility and also educate them as the technical requirements to get a real-time hydraulic model project started
