How to Overcome Institutional Barriers to a Reuse Project
With increased pressure on water supplies, many communities are exploring new strategies, such as potable reuse, to meet future water demands. As to potable reuse, however, countless barriers must be overcome to successfully initiate and execute a project. The obstacles include but aren’t limited to collaboration between separate utilities or distinct departments, public perception, treatment and technology options, finances, and regulatory issues.
