Road Safety Policy 2019

The objective of the three courses is to provide participants with an understanding of road accident causation and prevention techniques, including data interpretation from accident and record analysis, insight into accident reduction measures and the road safety audit procedure. Completion of the full course and submission of an assessment report will provide delegates with the basic road safety knowledge for undertaking road safety audits as currently required by Volume 5, Section 2 Part 2 of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges. Attendance at any of the two day modules will contribute to annual CPD requirements. Certification of auditors to EU Directive and IAN 152/11 (or successor documents) will be provided as required but will necessitate further submission/assessment as required by changing guidance. There is the opportunity for further CPD via a specific Advanced Road Safety course that will be provided to meet demand. The courses are led by experts from TRL.
