WMSoc Training Courses - Practical Risk Assessment - W024
This is an advanced risk assessment course suitable for people with experience in legionella risk assessment or those who have attended a basic legionella risk assessment course. Candidates must have a good working knowledge of the microbiology, history and legislation related to the control of legionella. These aspects will not be covered in the formal instruction, however, supporting notes will be supplied which will form part of the end-of-course examination. NB: Individuals needing to reinforce their knowledge in this area should consider W015 Basic Risk Assessment of Water Systems first.

To discuss and experience the practical aspects of carrying out legionella risk assessments on hot and cold water systems, producing the Executive Summary and presenting the findings to the customer.
- Practical guidance on carrying out legionella risk assessments on hot and cold water systems and the presentation of risk assessment reports.
- Includes a detailed study of the HSE ACoP L8 and HSG274 technical guidance and looks at the need for competent employees and assessors.
Includes instruction in the Practical Training Area
There will be a substantial practical element to this course, during which, a risk assessment is completed on a hot and cold water system and the findings of the exercise conveyed to the customer.
45 minute written exam.

The WMSoc cannot accept responsibility for candidates who attend without basic knowledge and fail to achieve an acceptable standard in the assessment. Anyone feeling that their knowledge requires fortification should consider the Basic Risk Assessment course first.
