Water measurement systems & sensors for water quality monitoring

by Isodaq Technology - Hydro-Logic Group     based in Bromyard, UNITED KINGDOM

Effective water quality monitoring is the key to environmental protection of watercourses and for reliable process control and wastewater treatment.  Discharge consents under EPR regulations dictate that water quality monitoring is undertaken to ensure that consented parameters are below the consented concentrations.  Traditionally this has been done using water quality sampling methods but increasingly automatic water quality measurement sensors linked to real-time telemetry is seen as the most reliable and timely means of ensuring that treatment processes are operating efficiently and that EPR compliance is maintained.

Noise monitoring for railways and trains

by Larson Davis, a division of PCB Piezotronics     based in Depew, NEW YORK (USA)

Controlling and monitoring railway and train noise in residential and urban areas is a critical function of a railway. The noise generated can be dependent upon the engine, rail cars, rail construction, train speed, and the horn. Modern high speed trains have also created new levels of high frequency noise that create an acoustic disturbance that sounds like an aircraft going by.

Wind farm noise monitoring

by Larson Davis, a division of PCB Piezotronics     based in Depew, NEW YORK (USA)

Wind energy is a renewable energy source that is being harnessed globally to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and the associated impact on our environment. However, the environmental impact of the turbine noise and the blade pass noise is a concern that is carefully monitored and generally regulated. It is very important to be able to acquire accurate acoustical data for analysis, noise impact predictions, and regulatory compliance. Effective noise monitoring is a very valuable tool to manage a wind farm’s relationship with the community and with the local regulatory organizations.

PM2.5/PM10 particulate monitoring

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

OPSIS provides real-time, flexible monitoring of particulate matter in the ambient air. Particulate matter monitoring with OPSIS, is a cost-effective solution, is ideally suited for use in modern monitoring stations. It can be remote controlled and includes automatic calibration, features that frees time.  The SM200 meets the new regulation for automatic monitoring of PM10 and PM2.5. It also meets the new regulation for particulate matter sampling on filter membranes for further analysis of cadmium, nickel, PAH and other substances.

Laboratory Analytical - Density Concentration Tables

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

With predefined formulas or concentration tables the density meter converts the measured density value automatically into the desired concentration unit. The density meters from Mettler Toledo have already built in formulas and concentration tables for the most common applications.

Laboratory Weighing - Interval Weighing

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

Simply connect one or multiple balances to the LabX balance PC software, define duration and frequency of your measurements and LabX takes care of automatic data collection. All weighings can be activated from the balance touch screen, executed according to your SOP and recorded automatically. LabX captures all data and stores it in a central SQL-database. From you office, you gain access to all data immediately and enjoy powerful data management functionalities. Data can also be exported manually or automatically to any destination, e.g. to a validated MS Excel spreadsheet or an application software.

Digital Pathology

by Excelitas Technologies     based in Mississauga, ONTARIO (CANADA)

Digital Pathology is an image-based information environment enabled by virtual microscopy. This involves imaging glass slides and saving and distributing their digital images for analysis, archiving and storage. The virtual microscopy slides are: •Scanned — using a microscope based scanning device that takes images of the whole slide via large scanning or stitching of smaller scans. This involves a motorized stage to scan the whole slide. Light source stability is important for scanning in order to prevent illumination variation across the whole scan. The X-Cite® exacte is commonly used in slide scanning systems. •Viewed — on a computer via viewing software •Managed — some of the slides have a barcode that is also scanned to enable archiving with patient information •Analysed — using image analysis tools and software, structures maybe automatically identified and quantified •Shared — digital pathology files may be shared over a network to gather additional expert opinion Digital pathology technology in no way replaces the expert eye and diagnosing power of a pathologist and a doctor. The only thing it saves is time to image the samples and also provides an efficient and organized way to archive the virtual microscopy slides for future consultations, record-keeping and disease comparison.

Laboratory Weighing - Stent Weighing

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

Weighing delicate tubular samples such as sticks, springs, tungsten wires or stents require highest weighing precision but unfortunately are difficult to handle. Our Automatic-S Microbalances are the best solution for weighing such delicate samples.

Measurement solution for ambient air workplace monitoring

by Protea Limited     based in Middlewich, UNITED KINGDOM

Protea can supply fixed workplace monitoring systems that can measure single or multi-points about the workplace. Specifically designed analytical systems can ensure detection limits down to ppb levels can be achieved for multiple gases with a single instrument. Controlling software can run automatically, providing instantaneous or time-weighted average readings.

Industrial Weighing - Formulation

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

If valuable raw materials need to be added accurately to produce the right mixture the METTLER TOLEDO line of terminals and scale bases is the right choice. Minor shifts or variations in minor ingredients mean failure while repeatable adherence to the formula delivers profits.

Laboratory Analytical - Refractive Index Concentration Tables

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

With predefined formulas or concentration tables the refractometer converts the measured refractice index automatically into the desired concentration unit.
