Fermentation Off-Gas Analysis

by Hiden Analytical     based in Warrington, UNITED KINGDOM

In pilot plant and production scale fermentors, information relating to yield of product is of high importance. Hiden's gas analysers are configured with a multiport Off-Gas analysis manifold enabling simultaneous sampling from multiple fermentors. Data is used for the calculation of the respiratory quotient, carbon production rate and oxygen uptake rate. The Off-Gas measurement provides the respiratory quotient in a time and space averaged form and with good response time. By comparison data from multiple dissolved species probes are more specific and can provide information about stirring efficiency, aeration and feed distribution within the fermentor. Dissolved gas measurements have the advantage of giving direct information on gas uptake and for dissolved output rates. Hiden Analyticaloffers systems with either Off-Gas or dissolved species inlets or both.

Gas Analysis Systems for Catalysis, Thermal Analysis, Fermentation and Bio Fuels

by Hiden Analytical     based in Warrington, UNITED KINGDOM

Hiden gas analysis systems provide for high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, real-time analysis of almost any gas and vapour. Hiden’s application specific gas analysis systems are tailored to meet the specific application requirements, and include a range of special sampling, vacuum pumping and vacuum accessories. Hot zone sampling accessories are included for evolved gas analysis from furnaces, and thermo gravimetric analysers, TGA, for example. Thermal analysis methods are vital for catalysis characterization. For thermal analysis including TPD/TPO/TPR, studies, Hiden gas analysis systems include enhanced pumping for hydrogen and special close coupled sampling to the TPD/TPO/TPR reactor for optimum thermal analysis response. In Biogas applications the simultaneous analysis of H2S, CO2, water vapour and CH4 in the PPM to 100% concentration range provides vital information for process development and process monitoring.

Process Analytics - Biotech and Hygienic Processes

by Mettler - Toledo Int. Inc     based in Greifensee, SWITZERLAND

METTLER TOLEDO/INGOLD offers a wide range of hygienic and sterilizable/auto- clavable measurement solutions for biotech and hygienic processes. Based on field experiences and expertises in hygienic design for CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilization-in-Place) applications our solutions comply with the most stringent industry requirements. Critical biotech/hygienic applications in pharmaceutical, food and beverage are controlled by measuring pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, CO2 and turbidity.

FT-NIR spectroscopy for the biofuels industry

by Bruker Corporation     based in Billerica, MASSACHUSETTS (USA)

FT-NIR spectroscopy is a widely used technique that can do rapid and non-destructive measurements in seconds. This technique can achieve multiple analysis results per measurement and determine real–time chemical information at-line and in-line.

Reliable Shredding Technology for Waste Processing

by UNTHA Shredding Technology     based in Kuchl, AUSTRIA

Our shredders are well suited for a 1-step or 2-step waste recycling. A mechanical-biological waste recycling is usually performed when processing household or commercial waste similar to household waste. The goal of this treatment is to generate a landfill-suited waste material by separating waste fractions with a high calorific value, valuable resources as well as foreign objects. We understand the tough requirements that the shredding technology of a mechanical-biological waste recycling system faces. With our newly engineered XR series we are able to offer the ideal product that meets these tough requirements for both low operating costs and high availability.
