    EDXRF spectrometers for forensics industry

Fingerprinting all kinds of materials analyzed in forensic analysis

Forensic scientists generally require fast and non-destructive analysis of a very wide range of materials. Often these materials are presented in very small quantity, as evidence collected from a crime scene. Using ED-XRF allows to measure a wide range of elements and concentrations: C(6)-Fm(100), without any need of sample preparations. Samples can be measured in many different formats such as powder, solid, liquid or in thin films.

    TPH in Soil Remediation

InfraCal TOG/TPH Analyzers allow for TPH (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons) in soil testing at remediation sites such as leaking underground storage tanks and produced water evaporation ponds. Site managers can avoid having costly soil remediation equipment sit idle while waiting for off-site lab results. Sampling requires a few simple steps that can be performed by non-technical personnel. The soil is mixed with the extraction solvent, shaken, filtered, and then presented to the InfraCal Analyzer for measurement. Features include: - Results in under 15 minutes, including extraction ¨ Detect levels as low as 10 ppm ¨ Portable, rugged, lightweight, easy-to-use ¨ Battery operable ¨ Ideal for field or laboratory applications ¨ Factory calibration available

  • Construction Xray Inspection

A non destructive test for concrete plays a central role in determining the quality of cement casting. Bubbles and sediment in the cement weaken the construction considerably. NDT testing equipment is also used in construction to determine the quality of the wired foundations. One of the challenges of construction NDT is the possible difficulty in reaching testing locations. A non destructive test for concrete conducted with a portable digital radiography system provides an excellent inspection tool. Combining mobility with phenomenal penetration capabilities and the highest quality digital radiology imaging, Our portable X-ray inspection systems provide a comprehensive solution to construction NDT technicians.

  • Quantitative Agricultural Analyses

ASD’s NIR measurement solutions are ideal for the qualitative and quantitative agricultural analysis necessary throughout the entire production process, including process monitoring of fermentable sugars and enzymatic activities for increased product yield. The ability to analyze large numbers of samples simultaneously in real-time, continuously, and non-destructively, provides significant advantages in the manufacturing stage. The flexibility of ASD systems allows this at virtually any point in the processing stream where determining constituent or final product quality is critical to the success of your operation.

  • Integrated real-time gas analysis solution for specialty gases industry

CIC Photonics’ extensive experience with gas analysis has also included what the industry refers to as Specialty Gases, as distinguished from Semi Gases, Electronic Specialty Gases, and Industrial Gases. Specialty Gases are high purity gases used across many applications by researchers, by government agencies, and by commercial businesses. Included among these users and applications are: hospitals for medical gases; environmental labs and testing companies for blends of protocol gas mixtures; calibration gases; spectroscopy standards; gas composition measurements and confirmations; and others.

  • Ground Penetrating Radars (GPR) for Archaeology

In archaeology using GPR you can process considerable areas of planned excavations. Therefore, the needed excavation area can be substantially reduced. Time and financial costs reduce as well. Examining historical buildings GPRs allow to find hidden rooms, spot areas of demolition in the object structure. What is remarkable, you can make a noncontact research with GPR (e.g. above ground surface).

  • Combined photo-radiometric probe for Museum & Metal Industry

The combined photo-radiometric probe LP471P-A measures the two parameters of principal interest in the field of lighting, namely the ILLUMINATION (lux) and UVA IRRADIANCE (W/m2). The probe is composed by a luxmeter and an UVA radiometer. The signals of the two sensors are read and processed at the same time to visualize the relation between the two quantities expressed in µW/lumen. The two sensors are equipped with a diffuser for the correct measure according to the cosine law. The probe LP471P-A is particularly useful when the simultaneous measurement of illuminance and UVA irradiance is required. For example, in museum environment when it is necessary to evaluate the UVA radiation level in the lamps in order to avoid damage to paintings or wood or any other historical art objects(CIE 157) and another area of interest is the Non Destructive Testing (NDT) that employ penetrating liquids, used primarily in the fields of mechanics and aerospace(ISO 3059:2001)

  • Casting Inspection

Non destructive test methods are highly effective in the detection of casting defects which are not always visible on the surface. X-ray is a well-known tool for casting quality control. Digital radiography technology takes these tests to the next level. Excellent resolution and dynamic range enable NDT technicians to see the smallest bubbles and the tiniest of cracks. Non destructive test methods employing portable Digital Radiography systems can serve as an efficient solution in facilities that require both laboratory and onsite inspection.

  • Smoke generator device for building envelope, energy studies & air tightness testing

The air tightness or leakage rate of a building is the uncontrolled flow of air through holes, gaps and cracks in the fabric of a building, which may not be detectable simply by looking at the outside of the building. Filling a building or void with smoke and pressurising that volume, will result in a visible discharge of smoke from any problem areas. Smoke is the perfect medium for discovering where leaks are and how big they are! Filling a `leaky` building, ductwork, pipes, aircraft or containment area with smoke and ideally adding a small amount of pressure to the area being tested, will result in a visible discharge of smoke and, simply put, the greater the volume of smoke, the bigger the leak.
