01dB DUO at London 2012 Olympic Games

Limonest, October 2012 -- The Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games of London 2012 had 16 DUO monitoring stations to measuree ... wind speed!

Systems composed of a DUO smart noise monitor and a Vaisala weather station WMT52 were designed to protect structures installed temporarily during the Olympics. Each unit should send one or more SMS alerts in
real-time when wind gusts are exceeding 18m/s (orange alert) or 25m/s (red alert).

It is a new application for DUO as noise level is not part of the indicators used. However expert features such as integration of weather data, advanced trigger options and of course, embedded 3G connectivity, were decisive arguments for the end-user to choose the DUO solution proposed by 01dB.
