10-Year Anniversary of Protecting Children from Environmental Health Risks
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Executive Order 13045 - 'Protection of Children from Environmental Health Risks and Safety Risks.' Executive Order 13045 requires each federal agency to identify and evaluate environmental health and safety risks to children.
Today, experts in children's environmental health protection shared their ideas about how to protect children over the next 10 years. Over the last decade, EPA has advanced the protection of children through a variety of efforts to improve the environments where children live, learn and play.
The event was sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and EPA. The event took place at the Barbara Jordan Conference Center, Kaiser Family Foundation.
