Visitor numbers were 15% up on the previous year’s figures
The Technological Bioenergy Fair, held between 18 and 20 October in Valladolid, welcomed 13,596 professional visitors, compared with the 11,819 that attended the 2010 edition of the event.
The 453 companies and brands from 24 countries represented at Expobioenergía attracted almost 13,600 professionals from 39 nationalities. The event organisers expressed their satisfaction at the figures, which exceed the targets set for a year that has proved to be tremendously difficult, especially for the trade fair sector.
Exhibitors remain convinced that the event is rated particularly highly due to its outstanding degree of specialisation and the standard of visitors.
Valladolid, southern Europe’s bioenergy capital
Castilla y León’s institutional capital is now firmly consolidated as the bioenergy hub for southern Europe. A meeting point for all those agents operating in the sector, each year Expobioenergía draws to Valladolid the latest innovations and state-of-the-art technologies for groundbreaking companies and brands with a solid international reputation. The event also attracts all the major associations within the sector, energy agencies, technology centres and of course renowned international experts who once again met at the International Bioenergy Congress.
The event is also of major importance for Valladolid, with organisers putting the socio-economic impact of Expobioenergía in terms of the services required for the trade fair at more than 5 million euros a year. These figures include accommodation, transport and other services required by the organisers, exhibitors, visitors and participants in the event's extensive programme of activities.
Thanks to the Europe’s largest annual event specialising in bioenergy, Valladolid has once again hosted a consolidated project with an extremely bright future.
The large number of participants has once again shown that this event offers attractive opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs in one of the few sectors that are currently enjoying seemingly unstoppable growth.
Expobioenergía is organised by AVEBIOM and the Cesefor Foundation, with the collaboration of the IDAE, and sponsored by the Junta de Castilla y León and Gestamp Biomass.
