Active Water Sciences, LLC. Recognized As Innovation Leader by WSJ

Breakthrough Wastewater Treatment System Named in

Wall Street Journal 2010 Technology Innovation Awards

Palestine, TX., XXX, 2010 – Texas based Active Water Sciences, LLC (AWS), makers of a revolutionary new wastewater treatment system with worldwide applications, is among an elite group of companies recognized in the 2010 Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards. Competing against nearly 600 entries from all over the world, AWS was chosen as a runner up in the Environment category for its portable, self-contained wastewater-treatment system, the Water Phoenix. Out of nearly 600 entries, only 49 technologies were recognized in 17 categories.

The Water Phoenix is a patented new wastewater treatment system that offers great promise in virtually any scenario where clean water is a priority, including military, disaster relief, nation-building and municipal wastewater cleanup efforts. Based on a continuous flow technology, the system uses special bacteria to convert wastewater into EPA- standard water within 24 hours, producing little to no sludge.

Water Phoenix units have been purchased by the army for use on military bases in Afghanistan. The units are modular and highly transportable, and can be up and running within 24 hours of delivery to any location.  They requires virtually no onsite manpower to operate, as they can be monitored, diagnosed and controlled via the Internet for up to six months at a time.

Active Water Sciences will be recognized at the Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards dinner on November 3 in Redwood, California.

The Water Phoenix technology was also recently chosen as a winner in the 2010 Tech Fort Worth IMPACT Awards. The IMPACT Awards recognize North Texas start-up companies that bring to market innovative technologies that will impact our world.
