Developments in biogas standardization
The ISO standardization institute established a technical committee TC 255 “Biogas” which is developing new standards since 2015. TC 255 is developing standards about biogas installations, such as fermentation, biogas treatment, biogas upgrading & liquefaction, flares, gasification, power to gas etcetera. The sizes of the installations vary from domestic and farm scale to industrial scale. The focus is on safety, environmental and performance aspects. Experts of Hofstetter in the area of flares,...

Edinburgh Sensors New Chillcard NG Range for CO and CO2 Gas Measurement
The Chillcard NG range of NDIR gas sensors from Edinburgh Sensors has been extended to include two new gases; namely carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Our standard sensors for these gases use a miniature lamp with a tungsten filament as the source of infrared light. However, in applications such as endothermic gas annealing furnaces and gasification, where high levels of hydrogen (H2) are present, the lamp can have a reduced lifetime. It is possible to repair the sensor but this means delay whilst...
