34th IRO in Oldenburg well attended
This year, the largest further training event in the pipe construction industry in Germany, which took place for the 34th time, was held on 13 and 14 February 2020 under the motto 'Pipes and cables - Pipes for a modern infrastructure'. The growing importance of cable construction due to climate change, which is reflected in the expansion of power lines in Germany, was placed in relation to pipe construction. Similarities as well as differences between the two areas were to be worked out and discussed on the basis of many presentations. The focus was also on lectures on hydrogen and other topics relevant to pipeline construction. As in previous years, the DCA was represented in the field of trenchless construction in two lecture blocks with three technical presentations each. The lectures were well received by the visitors and also on the exhibition area of the IRO many interested people and members could be welcomed in the Drilling Saloon of the DCA, who met there for professional exchange. At this year's raffle of the DCA, Mr. Jörg Himmerich, Dr.-Ing. Veenker Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH was pleased about an 'Alexa' for his own home. To a new competition in 2021!
