3C experts to participate in multiple Carbon Expo events

Frankfurt - Markus Huewener and Dr. Sascha Lafeld, Managing Directors and Board Members of 3C Group, are to participate in a plenary session and three sideevents to share their insights into the carbon market industry and their visions for the future on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the 2007 Carbon Expo. 3C will exhibit together with investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort in Hall 11.1, B-028.

Markus Huewener, expert in EU ETS emissions trading and risk management as well as carbon investment issues, will participate in the plenary session on the “Status of the EU ETS and Review” moderated by Michael Grubb of Carbon Trust from 9:00 to 10:30. He will join a panel of international experts to discuss the key successes of the EU ETS, the
Review requirements to elaborate on the accomplishments, and the expectations of the EU ETS post-2012.

Dr. Sascha Lafeld, expert in CDM/JI project management and climate neutral activities, will participate in three side-events on Thursday. From 11:45 to 12:45, he will be part of the expert panel at 3C Consulting’s “Climate Neutral - Credibility in the voluntary carbon market through transparency and international standardization” side-event. Dr. Lafeld
will outline the market developments in corporate climate neutral activities and present strategies to address the need for transparency and international quality standards.

From 13:00 to 14:00, Dr. Lafeld will join a panel of government officials, buyers, sellers, brokers, and NGO representatives in the side-event “The Expanding Market for Premium Credits” organized by The Gold Standard. He will share his experiences on bringing Gold Standard projects to market at premium value and talk about 3C’s insights on reputation risk management in view of the expansion of the voluntary market.

In the afternoon, Dr. Lafeld will participate in the side-event of NRW’s energy agency on “Domestic Offset Projects – Instruments for a regional climate protection policy in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)” from 15:30 to 16:30. He will discuss NRW’s new Joint Implementation Model project, financial instruments and CO2-oriented management
tools and their potential to link regional activities with the international emissions trading system.
