3E Company, the leading provider of environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance and information management services, today announced the availability of the Ariel Rules Builder, a new application for SAP EHS Management users which facilitates the generation of accurate and reliable Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) content. When combined with Ariel Expert Rules Sets and Phrase Assignment Rules for GHS, the Ariel Rules Builder offers users a powerful solution that extends the automation in the authoring of a complete MSDS document in SAP EHSM, saving valuable time and improving the quality of authored documents.

The Ariel Rules Builder’s user-friendly interface simplifies the configuration and generation of the rules used to automate the document authoring process in SAP EHSM. Based on predefined criteria, the rules assign content to multiple characteristics in the SAP Property Tree. Content from the Property Tree is then pulled into the various sections of an MSDS, including First Aid Measures, Accidental Release Measures, Handling and Storage, Fire Fighting Measures, Personal Protection, Stability and Reactivity, Ecological and Disposal Considerations.

The Ariel Rules Builder is a natural extension of 3E’s leading Ariel Expert Rules set, which is used by businesses around the globe to quickly meet compliance requirements and provide accurate documentation for products, based on composition, classification, use, and distribution.  With the introduction of the Ariel Rules Builder, users can further automate the creation of content for all sections of an MSDS by utilizing Ariel’s preconfigured phrase assignment rules or by adding their own company specific rules logic directly with the Rules Builder interface.

The Ariel Rules Builder has a light IT footprint and is easy to implement. The application connects to SAP EHSM in order to access the latest phrase and property tree definitions. Once configured, the application is ready to apply rules to modify existing or author new content. The generated rules are run using SAP’s EHS Expert, providing a common company-wide methodology. The solution is compatible with all other 3E products for SAP EHSM, including the Ariel Multilingual Phrase Library, Ariel Expert Rules, ADM EHSAP and Ariel Templates.

“3E Company has a successful and proven track record for providing quality content, software, and services designed specifically for seamless integration with SAP EHSM.  Our highly experienced implementation team has worked with more than 60 companies using SAP EHSM,” said Julia Tsvetkova, Product Manager, 3E Company. “The introduction of the Ariel Rules Builder reaffirms our long-standing and productive support for the SAP EHSM user community, for whom we proudly provide the industry’s most powerful combination of rich global multilingual regulatory and scientific content, expert rules and sophisticated data loading and management tools to enable optimum efficiency and increased value out of the SAP EHSM system.”

The Ariel Rule Builder is available immediately. The first release of content for Ariel Rules Builder includes Ariel Phrase Assignment Rules – GHS, which features content that is based on GHS Classification criteria.

At the core of Ariel solutions for SAP is the massive collection of global chemical regulatory content aggregated, refined and maintained by 3E’s own team using documented best practice methodology and a rigorous quality assurance process. More than 300 multi-national organizations, including 70% of the world’s largest chemical manufacturers, rely on Ariel content on a daily basis. The breadth of countries covered and depth of regulatory and legislative information provided offer unprecedented support for identifying, monitoring and complying with ever changing EH&S requirements.
