3E Company unveils online training program to facilitate compliance with OSHA’s new hazard communication standard 2012
Carlsbad, Calif. -- Interactive multimedia training can be accessed anytime, anywhere to promote better employee understanding of new classification and labeling changes
3E Company, a leading provider of environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance and information management services, today introduced a new web-based interactive training module designed to help facilitate conformance with the employee training obligations outlined in the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration’s (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard 2012 (HazCom 2012), which aligns with the United Nations’ (UN) Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Companies around the globe can use the Hazard Communication Standard 2012 Training Module to satisfy the employee training requirements of HazCom 2012.
To conform to HazCom 2012, employers are required to train employees on the standard’s new label elements and safety data sheet (SDS) format by December 1, 2013. The one-hour Hazard Communication Standard 2012 Training Module, developed in cooperation with Learn it Solutions, streamlines the process through an engaging and intuitive online training program accessible anytime and anywhere an Internet connection is available.
3E leveraged its extensive GHS expertise when developing the Hazard Communication Standard 2012 Training Module. 3E Company’s regulatory experts closely studied HazCom 2012 and used experience gained from previous GHS projects and implementations around the globe to ensure that the module is optimized to support immediate conformance initiatives. In addition to the module, 3E has a broad and extensive GHS practice augmented by a skilled staff of GHS experts and aimed at supporting and streamlining conformance with the new standard.
Employees who complete the course will:
- better understand the new classification, label elements, and SDS format as required by HazCom 2012
- increase their knowledge of their role in employing the HazCom 2012 components most critical to worker safety
- better recognize the value of HazCom 2012 in ensuring a safe work environment
- increase conformance with the regulations for communicating chemical hazards in the workplace
“With the deadline for employee training looming on the horizon, companies urgently need to execute their HazCom 2012 compliance initiatives if they have not already done so,” said Chris Kraus, director of strategic alliances, 3E Company. “While conformance can be a complex and expensive undertaking, if the appropriate tools are in place to handle the transition, the volume and scope of change is not as daunting. Our new Hazard Communication Standard 2012 Training Module helps companies easily navigate the training requirements of the new standard and achieve compliance.”
The Hazard Communication Standard 2012 Training Module can be deployed as a stand-alone web application or as a training module that can be integrated into an existing learning management system (LMS). The module will be available in early 2013, with reduced early bird pricing available now.
