Making new plastic bottles out of old recycled plastic bottles helps reduce waste and increase reuse.

In North America, water bottles account for more than 2 million tons of waste each year. Recycling (polyethylene terephthalate) PET plastics – a popular plastic for food and non-food products – can help improve the recycling value chain by allowing things like plastic bottles be recycled back into other plastic containers. To help facilitate the recycling of PET, Avery Dennison developed CleanFlake, a label material designed to release cleanly from plastic PET bottles and increase the amount of pure PET recovered in recycling. Up-recycling saves energy, resources, and kick starts the recycling process again.
