A cardboard recycling add-on
The amount of cardboard packaging arriving every week at Joe Oliver’s plant hire and small tools business at Wantage in Oxfordshire was enough to suggest a moneymaking adjunct to his business.
A visit to the NEC and Jarshire’s stand at the RWM exhibition confirmed the feasibility and, after just 2 months, his cardboard recycling concept was up and running, processing not only his own waste material but that from other businesses on the estate as well as some collected from further afield.
The baler chosen by Joe Oliver after discussions with Jarshire is an IPS V606 vertical 10 hp down-stroke baler that bales the cardboard into 1525mm x 760mm x 1220mm guaranteed mill-size bales with bale weights of up to 500 kg. Of heavy construction, the baler incorporates comprehensive information diagnostics and advanced hydraulics more usually found on larger and more expensive models. Reliable and safe to use, the baler exceeds all EU and CE safety standards and is supplied with full operator training and an instructional video.
Commenting, Mr Oliver said: “The baler is in use most days, it’s very easy to operate and it certainly is robust. Of all the people I spoke to at the exhibition, Jarshire were the quickest to respond and they came in with a very competitive quote. I am very happy with my choice”.
