A new OiRA tool for the ‘Live performance’ sector launched by EU social partners

What better location than the KVS (Brussels City Theatre) to present a new tool for risk assessment addressed to the ‘live performance’ sector? EU social partners from this sector (EAEA and PEARLE ) launch their sectoral Online interactive Risk Assessment tool (OIRA) on 17 September.

A couple of years ago, these organisations already published a first OiRA version, but they decided to take a second step, with additional funding from the European Commission. After discussions with future users, it was decided that two tools would make the use of the OiRA more customer-friendly and adapted to the way in which the sector operates. The revised OiRA tool – divided now into two sections: ‘venues’ and ‘production’ - now covers all occupational risks in the sector whilst cross-references are made and where applicable both tools can completed. A customized promotion programme has also been developed.

For application of the tool, social media partners at Member State level in the ‘live performance’ sector are encouraged to adapt the tool to their national context and needs.
