A&WMA presents Joint Conference on International Thermal Treatment Technologies and Hazardous Waste
The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) will present “The Joint Conference: International Thermal Treatment Technologies (IT3) & Hazardous Waste Combustors (HWC),” May 18-22, 2009, in Cincinnati, OH. “Thermal treatment technologies are constantly being challenged to meet updated standards,” said Adrianne Carolla, A&WMA Executive Director. “This conference will provide an opportunity for environmental professionals to respond and discuss recent changes, and to develop innovative solutions.”
Industry experts involved with thermal treatment technologies for the management of hazardous, radioactive, mixed, munitions, medical/pharmaceutical, and municipal wastes will discuss practical applications of technical and scientific advances in the field.
The Joint Conference will also offer invited and contributed papers that address approaches to safely managing waste streams amenable to thermal treatment processes, and evaluate their associated costs, risks, and impacts. There will be a particular focus on hazardous waste management including HWC Maximum Achievable Control Technology status and policy updates, emission studies, testing and monitoring approaches, and risk assessment updates.
