AARCHER has achieved certification of its ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS). AARCHER implemented an organization-wide EMS in 2011 and achieved final certification following a registration audit performed by Orion Registrar in May 2012. Our EMS addresses not only our environmental aspects, such as employee commute, energy use, and business travel, but also our work as environmental service consultants.
AARCHER pursued EMS implementation and certification to improve our own environmental performance, enhance our practical EMS knowledge base, enable us to better understand the challenges of our EMS clients, and to demonstrate our EMS development support abilities.
ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard that enables organizations to identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, product or services. It provides a framework for a holistic, strategic approach to the organization’s environmental policy, plans and actions and is a cyclical process consisting of “plan – do – check – act” focused on continuous environmental improvement, innovation, and more efficient operations. As of 2010, over 1.3 million companies were certified to the ISO 14001:2004 standard globally.
