Abalaco Inc. developes a new solid waste treatment system
Abalaco, Inc. a Florida corporation introduced a low-cost solid waste treatment system calling it humid fermentation system. Municipal waste's organics are first stored in specially designed treatment silos to release methane; the gas is collected and CHPs are run with the gas. The organic waste is kept for upto three weeks in siols than taken to open air to turn to compost.
The material is cleaned by a special way to make organic compost for agricultural use.
System costs less than half comparing with anaerobic digestion systems.
