Lansing, MI, March 25th, 2013 -- Tell us your CIH Value Story is the message from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene in the latest edition of The ABIH Advisor newsletter. The ABIH is sponsoring a contest for CIHs to share their stories about how the CIH credential has benefited their careers.
Over the years, ABIH has learned that many people pursue the CIH for a very simple value proposition – personal satisfaction, peer recognition/credibility and increased job opportunities. Today, ABIH is directly asking CIHs working in different industrial hygiene capacities and from across the globe about what it means to them to have the CIH credential?
This new contest and opportunity for CIHs to share their story will allow ABIH to better understand how the CIH credential has specifically benefited people’s career after they became certified. For example, some of the things ABIH would like to know include:
- Did the CIH credential help to achieve job promotions?
- Did the CIH credential help to secure contracts?
- Did the CIH credential open new doors and opportunities?
- Did the CIH credential solidify their professional foundations and credibility?
- Basically, how has the CIH credential been a differentiator in one’s career?
“Most if not all CIHs have a value story to tell regarding the CIH credential,” stated Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH. “The CIH Value Story can be a single event or a combination of vignettes. Any and all CIH Value Stories are welcome. As an extra incentive, all eligible entrants will have a chance to win an Apple iPad mini or an Amazon gift card.”
To share your CIH Value Story, please visit the ABIH website at http://www.abih.org/contest. The top 25 value stories will receive a $10 gift card (to Amazon) and one of the top 25 will be randomly selected to win an iPad mini. All CIHs in good standing are eligible to participate. One entry per person and all entries must be received by June 30, 2013. Winners will be announced in the fall newsletter.
