Lansing, MI, November 3rd, 2014 -- On November 4th, industrial hygiene professionals, risk managers, safety officers and others involved with protecting the health and safety of workers and the environment will converge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They will be coming from across Asia and the globe to attend and participate in the 2014 AIHA/MIHA Asia Pacific OH + EHS Conference + Exhibition.
The event brings together professionals from industry, government agencies and researchers for three days of professional development courses, presentations, poster sessions and networking opportunities. The event is cosponsored by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA). According to the conference website, “…this meeting provides attendees with the highest-quality education and training to manage industrial hygiene, occupational health, and environmental health and safety issues in the workplace. It also provides a unique forum to network with peers, and discuss current events and trends.”
One of this year’s silver sponsors is the American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®). Since 1960, ABIH, a not-for-profit corporation, has been the world's largest, premier organization for certifying professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene. Many of the industrial hygiene professionals attending the 2014 AIHA/MIHA Asia Pacific OH + EHS Conference + Exhibition have earned the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) certification administered by ABIH. Many others plan to achieve certification in the near future.
“Our CIH examination is offered throughout world, including Asia-Pacific, and this event is a great opportunity for us at ABIH to meet with CIHs and those who plan on achieving the certification to synergize their careers,” said Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH. “Anyone attending the conference is welcome to stop by the ABIH exhibit and meet with our representatives. For those not attending, we offer free consultations on eligibility and gap closure strategies though the contact information on our web site.”
