Accenture has been named to Canada's Top 100 Employers list, an annual competition to recognize Canada's best places to work. The publication of standings, now in its 12th year, appeared in today's Globe and Mail.

'Accenture continues to build our winning team of more than 4,500 employees in Canada, delivering high performance for our clients across all industries and all levels of government,' said Bill Morris, president of Accenture's Canadian operations.

'We are very pleased to be recognized as a leading Canadian employer of choice, particularly as we continue to recruit new talent in Canada and worldwide.'

Several of Accenture's leading initiatives have been listed in the detailed reasons for selection, published on the Canadian job search website, Eluta.ca.

'At Accenture, our goal is to attract, retain, and promote a top-quality workforce by creating an inclusive working environment that is rich in diversity, and which acknowledges each individual's skills and contributions,' said Claudia Thompson, managing director, Human Capital & Diversity for Accenture Canada.

'Accenture embraces the diversity of the talent pool, and relies on it to drive innovation, growth and performance. We continue anchoring to our core values that include best people, respect for the individual and stewardship.'

Accenture provides a number of programs and initiatives for employees, including:

Corporate Citizenship: Accenture employees consistently rank the company's corporate citizenship initiatives as a major factor in their job satisfaction. Accenture's global corporate citizenship focus -- Skills to Succeed -- will equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business.

Accenture employees in Canada are actively involved in initiatives at the local, national, and international levels for a variety of community groups, including nonprofit organizations, youth organizations, immigrant resource groups, and skill-building programs.

Training & Development: Accenture committed nearly US$600 billion to training and development of its employees globally for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2010. MyLearning, Accenture's global online learning portal for employees, offers thousands of learning courses from core training to specialized functional and technical training. Many employees also attend professional courses at Accenture's specialized training facility in St. Charles, Illinois.

Inclusion & Diversity: Accenture Canada's Inclusion & Diversity Program helps attract and retain a talented workforce by creating an inclusive working environment based on a positive approach to relationships with others, where individual differences are valued. Accenture holds diversity training sessions and builds community partnerships to foster diversity among many employee groups including women, LGBT, and people with disabilities.

Flexible Work Arrangements: Accenture offers options for how and where employees perform their work, enabling them to strike a sustainable balance between their professional and personal commitments. Employees use leading-edge communication technology such as TelePresence and Office Communicator to maximize people's time and minimize travel. When time is needed to pursue interests and needs outside of work, flexible transitions allow employees to stay connected to Accenture while on leave.

Canada's Top 100 Employers are selected by an advisory board of people drawn from universities across Canada, each of whom have written or edited a major Canadian textbook on human resources. About 12,500 companies were invited to apply for the award.

Accenture is consistently recognized worldwide as an employer of choice, and is ranked by Fortune and Working Mother as being among the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Accenture is ranked by DiversityInc as a Top 50 Company for Diversity.
