PPM Technology has developed wireless connectivity for our leading Formaldehyde detector and monitor the Formaldemeter htv-m.
The Formaldemeter htv-m is able to accurately detect and monitor formaldehyde, temperature and humidity in real-time. It can be used as a manual hand-held instrument or as a continuous monitoring device capable of up to one month of data-logging.
Formaldehyde is a colourless, pungent-smelling gas, it can cause watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes and throat, nausea, and difficulty in breathing in some humans exposed at elevated levels (above 0.1 parts per million). High concentrations may trigger attacks in people with asthma.
Formaldehyde is released from a variety of indoor sources, including building materials, cigarette smoke, household products, and the use of un-vented, fuel-burning appliances, like gas stoves or kerosene space heaters.
With further importance being put on air quality in public buildings, the workplace and in homes, the htV-m is aimed towards being the most accurate monitor while still providing quick and simple operation with a simple calibration procedure.
The customer can now specify whether their Formaldemeter htv-m will have a wireless module at the rear of the instrument. The wireless module communicates with a manager PC, all collected data is sent to the PC in real-time. The software can automate sampling and trigger relays for 3rd party alarms or air-conditioning systems.
The collected data can be stored and analysed using the specialist PPMonitor software. The results can be displayed graphically and detailed reports can be created.
Another option for wireless monitoring of Formaldehyde is the Mini Wireless htv, this offers a wireless solution for the continuous monitoring of levels of airborne Formaldehyde, Temperature and humidity. It uses the same PPMonitor software but is designed specifically for continuous monitoring as it is mains powered and can be wall-mounted. The Mini Wireless Unit can also monitor a number of other customer specified IAQ parameters.
The instruments use the sophisticated and reliable ZigBee wireless mesh system. The mesh network system is cost effective, easy to install and simple to use.
