Orlando, FL , PITTCON ( March 2, 2005 ) - Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) announces an exclusive agreement with the Coblentz Society to market and sell the Coblentz Society Spectral Collection throughout the world as an ACD/SpecManager database.
This collection of approximately 9,500 IR spectra donated by Coblentz Society members and evaluated extensively by the Coblentz Society has been available in book form for many years. Recently digitized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) the collection is now available for modern computerized instruments.
Through the agreement, ACD/Labs will make the highly acclaimed reference database available through its UV-IR Manager software.
Michael Boruta, Optical Spectroscopy Product Manager at ACD/Labs, states, “We are pleased and honored that the Coblentz Society has chosen to work with ACD/Labs to make this important reference source available to infrared users throughout the world.”
John Hellgeth, member and former president of the Coblentz Society, adds, “The ACD/Labs software with its integrated structures brings additional value to this highly acclaimed database of IR spectra.”
ACD/Labs will pay royalties to the Coblentz Society for each database sale. All proceeds earned by the Coblentz Society from the sale of each database will be used to support various projects, activities, awards, and shows that the non-profit society is involved in.
ACD/UV-IR Manager is part of ACD/SpecManager, the overall spectroscopic processing and data management software from ACD/Labs that allows scientists to process data and assign structures for any analytical technique.
About The Coblentz Society
Founded in 1954, the Coblentz Society is a non-profit organization fostering the understanding and application of vibrational spectroscopy. The Coblentz Society is an affiliate of FACSS, the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies. Through its Representatives on the Governing Board of FACSS, the Society helps to organize the successful FACSS meeting each fall. The Society is managed by an eight-member Board of Managers which elects its current president and officers.
